Creating a bedtime routine that WORKS!
Having a consistent bedtime routine is essential for your baby and toddler! When they know what to expect it makes them feel more relaxed. Around the 3 month mark is the ideal time for you to start having a consistent bedtime routine. These routines can be unique to your family but should be in the same order each evening. Keep things calm and start your bedtime routine 30-60 minutes prior to your child’s bedtime. If “lights-out” is at 7 p.m., your bedtime routine should be starting by 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. at the latest. Here are some ideas of things you can do as part of your bedtime routine.
Bathtime:
Baths are relaxing and also fun for tiny humans! A nice warm bath with even some lavender or natural baby soap and quiet water play can really set the tone for starting your bedtime routine!
Baby Massage:
Many babies LOVE massages, and if your baby is one of them, this is a perfect addition to your bedtime routine. After a nice warm bath, a massage will help relax them. Check out our Pinterest page for links to baby massages and all the essentials.

Books
Ready not only relaxes but also helps develop your tiny humans brain. Picking one or two age appropriate books to read with your baby is a great way to wind down in the evenings.
Singing
Soft music is very soothing and can set the tone for your little one to be very drowsy but not fully asleep when you lay him/her down.
These are just a few of the common things for an essential bedtime routine. You can come up with your own routine that’s unique to your family just be sure you follow the SAME steps each night. Keeping the same order is always best!
